Industry Visit to Mastrada Group: Enhancing Culinary Skills Through Technology and Professional Tools
Students from the Business Hotel Management program at BINUS University participated in an insightful industry visit to Mastrada Group, held at PT Mastrada on February 11, 2026, from 09.00 to 16.00. The visit aimed to provide students with real-world exposure to the latest developments in kitchen technology and professional culinary tools used in the hospitality industry.
The first session was delivered by Kattoo, emphasizing the importance of using high-quality, sharp knives in professional kitchens. Students gained practical insights into knife selection, maintenance, and safety, understanding how proper tools significantly impact efficiency, precision, and overall kitchen performance.
This was followed by a session from the Mastrada Group team, who introduced students to modern kitchen innovations, particularly the use of smart ovens in the culinary industry. The demonstration highlighted how advanced cooking technology can improve consistency, productivity, and energy efficiency, aligning with the evolving demands of professional kitchens.
The visit was accompanied by the lecturers from Hotel Management & Business Hotel Management: Aditya Nova Putra, Ichwan Masnadi, Indra Kusumawardhana, and Budi Riyanto, who guided students throughout the program. This industry engagement reflects BINUS University’s commitment to bridging academic learning with industry practice, equipping students with the knowledge and skills needed to thrive in the modern culinary and hospitality landscape
